In order to keep the sessions running to schedule and allow questions from the audience it is very important to ensure presentations are within the allotted time

Only PowerPoint presentations are accepted. Please note that only single projection will be available.

  • Do not include live links to the Internet. If you wish to show web pages use screen shots within your PowerPoint presentation.
  • Presentations will be saved and run from a computer in the session room. You will still be in control of moving your slides back and forth.

All presentations should be based on the submitted abstract as accepted by the Programme Committee.

  • There will be an AV technician on hand in each lecture theatre to control the roaming microphones for questions from the audience and to assist you should you need it.

The Speakers Room at Manchester Central

There will be a speaker’s room situated close to the main entrance of Manchester Central, where the AV company will be on hand to help load presentations and answer any technical queries about talks. Please do not hesitate to visit the Speakers’ Room or ask one of the AV technicians for assistance should you need it during the conference.

Speakers Room Opening Hours

Tuesday 1st & Wednesday 2nd  July: 08.00 – 18.00

Thursday 3rd July: 08.00 – 14.00

Please bring your USB memory stick with your presentation on (and back-up copy) to the speakers’ room at least 30 minutes in advance of your talk but preferably either in the morning before your talk in the afternoon or the day before (if possible) for a morning presentation, so that this can be loaded onto the computer in the lecture theatre. You will be in control of moving the slides back and forth.

Poster Presenters

In order to fit on the poster boards, your poster should be printed size A0 (841mm x 1189mm) and be in Portrait orientation.

All poster presentations should be based on the submitted abstract as accepted by the Programme Committee.

Location and displaying your poster

Posters will be displayed in a designated Poster Area on the left hand side of the Exhibition Hall.
Poster boards will be organised by symposia, session and then alphabetically by lead author.

Boards will be clearly marked to indicate the session and the poster number, which will correspond to the poster list in the conference programme you receive at registration. You will need to check the programme on arrival to find out your poster number. If you have any difficulties, a member of the RMS Events Team will be available to assist you.
You will be given Velcro to affix your poster to the board. Please do not use pins or staples which may damage the boards. If you require additional Velcro, please visit the registration desk.

You can put up your poster from 09.15 on Tuesday 1 July and posters are expected to remain up for the duration of the Congress. If you need to remove your poster before the end of the congress,
please inform a member of the RMS Events Team.
Posters must be taken down no later than 14.15 on Thursday 3 July as the Exhibition Hall will close at 15.00 and you will not be able to have access to the Hall to remove your poster after that time.

Please do not leave your poster tubes or packaging next to your poster board as we cannot guarantee security and also it presents a potential health and safety issue. You must take it with you.

Poster sessions

There will be two Poster Sessions at mmc2014. Poster Session One takes place on Tuesday afternoon and covers all sessions from Tuesday morning until Wednesday lunchtime. Poster Session Two will take place on Wednesday afternoon and covers all sessions from Wednesday lunchtime until Thursday afternoon.

Posters will be viewed during the lunch breaks and also during the Poster Sessions. The Tuesday Poster Session is from 16.00 – 17.45 and the Wednesday Poster Session is from 15.00 – 17.00.
You must be next to your poster during the Poster Session in order to answer any questions as this is when the posters will be judged.
