175th Anniversary for the RMS

2014 will mark the 175th Anniversary of the Royal Microscopical Society. This milestone will be celebrated with a range of events that will coincide with mmc2014, including the production of an Anniversary Book, the Congress Banquet and an Anniversary Session at mmc2014. The book is being written by Dr John L Hutchison Hon FRMS, a former President of the Society and covers the period 1989 – 2014. Copies of the book will be available at mmc2014.

There will also be an Anniversary Session on the afternoon of Wednesday 2 July at mmc2014 in Manchester and the plenary talks will be given by Professor Ernst Stelzer Hon FRMS and Dr John L Hutchison Hon FRMS. After the session, the Congress Banquet, which will take place at The Point, Lancashire Cricket Club, will also be a celebration of the 175th Anniversary, where Professor J S Ploem Hon FRMS will be giving a light-hearted after-dinner speech. This will be a great social event allowing lots of networking, relaxation and dancing too!
